Concert Overview:
This concert was totally awesome. John Schlitt was full of energy all over the stage, singing awesomely and doing his little "air guitar" thing and dancing around. He's got so much energy for age 50! Pete was also full of energy and funny antics (making faces and going crazy on the guitar. At one point he put the guitar on his head and he made this really high pitch sound! It rocked! Then at one time Lonnie came over and faked he was kicking him in the butt, and whenever he did, Pete would go up on the bridge making like a "woooh" kinda thing! Speaking of Lonnie, he was even MORE full of energy with his awesome style (see pics below) and his on antics, like doing these awesome 360's and getting the chord wrapped up around him at the same time! LOL! Unfortunately, Louie was behind the drums (like always) and we couldn't manage to get a picture of him. Although Billy yelled, (at the beginning of the concert) "Hey Mr. Louie Weaver!" and he smiled at us! On the drums, we were AMAZED at how good he can still drum after being with Petra for 18+ years. Bryce wasn't really what we expected. He was nothing like Trent. He wasn't too "involved", although he did pretty well on the keys (especially on Creed). But that's about it. All in all, this group is totally on fire and full of energy from God. John even called them "a bunch of wacko's". In a good way! :)
The songs were all very good and rocking. They started out with "I've Waited" to start getting the people ready for the BEST concert of their lives! Then they got into "He Came, He Saw", which was probably the best played song in the concert. It rocked! Others songs like "Creed" and "Beyond Belief" just swept the crowd away. Pete sang on "Breathe In" (with electric guitars and John in the background singing). This song was a hit! They loved it! Pete can make this really strange-cool-hard-rock kind of voice when he "yelled". It was great. Then they played the all time favorites "Judas' Kiss" and "Rose Colored Stained Glass Windows". They rocked just as good. The only song they played in acoustic from "Beat the System". It was really good! Pete was great with that acoustic guitar. They only thing that could have been even considered a "problem" was when John forgot the lyrics to that song! LOL! But we all know it wouldn't be John if he didn't forget the lyrics to a song! But other than that, the concert was TOO good!
Songs that would probably make the concert even better (IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE?)
1. Right Place
2. Just Reach Out
Here are some pictures from the concert. Each one will have a description under it. Sorry that the pictures didn't come out that great, we'll never use a disposable camera again!!! :)
THE PICTURES!
Definitely the best picture that came out of them all. Probably John's best picture yet with his fans :). Not to say that all the other one's weren't great! Picture taken by: one of the fans.
This picture came out ok. Here is Pete Orta tuning his acoustic guitar before they started. You can see one of the sound guys standing next to the drums over there, we're not sure who it is. Anyway, hey, there is Pete's favorite soda, right there: Diet Coke! :) :) :) Picture taken by: Billy.
There's John right there, looking at the crowd next to the drums. He's like, "You guys are gonna have a show tonight!" Picture taken by: Billy.
This picture came in great, you can see Lonnie there behind John as he's signing. Picture taken by: Jay.
There is another pretty good picture of John signing. Picture taken by: Billy.
.
Man what a cool pic, this is where Pete is going crazy on a solo. There is Lonnie right behind him doing some cool "bassing" (if that is a word). Picture taken by: Jay.
This is a picture that was taken before Petra, when Pete was filling in for "The Waiting's guitarist. You did an excellent job, Pete! Picture taken by: Billy.
Picture didn't come in too great, but you can tell "John's getting into it!" :) You can kinda see Louie in the background. Picture taken by: Billy.
